Figuring out how to add navigation to each of the pages

 

What worked really well when using our platform?

The theme customizing tool was pretty easy to figure out once I got started.

 

What could be improved when using our platform?

Potential for AI suggested tips / tricks that when sections are hovered over, suggestions on how to use each section most effectively are populated.  A tip / trick icon appears that allows users to click for more details / examples on how to build specific sections out.  Also - in the page text editor section of the online store, when moving my cursor up to change the text type from (heading 1, heading 2, etc), the insert image icon seemed to get in the way, so potentially move the hover effect to below the 2nd row of tools instead of above.  See Video below. 

 

 

How did this experience help you build empathy for our merchants?

Just like in the support call - alot of merchants using shopify are NOT creatives, developers, or computer experts.  They're experts in their own space in the world which is usually related to the product or service that they're offering.  For me - a minimally savvy computer guy, I ran into some frustrating roadblocks that I was able to solve with google / shopify resources.  This experience helps me empathize with the folks that spend far less time in front of a computer than myself, which I believe is a large portion of store owners.
